Tecnatom is participating in the BR3.01/12 “Support for the Brazilian Regulatory Authority (CNEN)”, project, forming part of an international consortium that includes the participation of French, German and Finnish corporations.
The objective of this project is to improve and strengthen the preparation of the Brazilian regulatory authority in accordance with international best practices and standards, with European experience in particular being taken as a reference.
The working areas developed in this project are related to probabilistic safety assessment, deterministic safety assessment, lifetime management and long-term operation, the management of emergencies, severe accident management and instrumentation and control. Tecnatom leads the area of emergency management and participates also in the disciplines of long-term operation, lifetime management and severe accidents management.
As regards performance of the tasks included in this project, the Tecnatom specialists involved carry out a part of their work at Angra nuclear power plant and the CNEN offices in Rio de Janeiro, the aim being to provide in situ support for the regulatory authority.
