Tecnatom and MTorres, reference suppliers of automatic tape laying-up (ATL) machines to the aeronautical industry, have been awarded a new project in the aeronautical sector for the supply of the production line of two new facilities in the Middle East.
Specifically, MTorres will provide the mechatronic basis on which Tecnatom will install the system for the acquisition and evaluation of the ultrasonic registers of the parts that ensure the quality of the final product. This is an important project that will require inspection cells of considerable size, for which reason Tecnatom has opted for a gantry type solution on which will be installed an automatic robot equipped with ultrasonic instrumentation for the scanning of parts from the vertical position. This project requires the incorporation of highly advanced mechanical solutions that constitute an important technological challenge.
This is not the first time that the two companies have performed projects jointly. Previously, Tecnatom has contributed its experience in the application of non-destructive testing to the quality control of manufactured parts using MTorres technology. Examples of this collaboration are systems that have been in production for several years now in USA or in China.
