As in previous years, Tecnatom was present at the reference event for composite materials at world level: JEC World, which was held at the Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre from March 14th to 16th. The objective of JEC World is to explore the ways in which composites respond to the challenges of our century: the environment, sustainability, 4.0 industry, innovation, prospection, knowledge and trends. More than 37,000 professionals from a hundred different countries were present at the event.
The Tecnatom, Group, along with its French subsidiary M2M, presented its technology developments for the aerospace industry, especially in the field of inspection systems, non-destructive testing and control engineering. Visitors to JEC World were able to gain insight into some of the solutions provided by the Spanish multinational for automated inspection, such as the BRAZO-3D product, which serves as a basis for the applicability of commercial 3D measuring arms to manual ultrasonic (UT), eddy current (ET), visual (VI) or other non-destructive testing type inspections. These systems provide the flexibility of manual inspections and allow for the recording of coordinates on complex geometry parts, without the need to use more sophisticated and expensive robot equipment. Also warmly welcomed has been WiiPA, a wireless positioning system which entirely removes the need for interaction with mechanical equipment for different UT or ET manual inspections, providing highly competitive degrees of accuracy at the same time as a significant reduction in costs for the client.
This 2017 edition has been special, as Tecnatom celebrates 60 years of work on NDT systems and techniques. Thanks to its R&D policy, the company has managed to become a world leader in the development and supply of robot-based systems, which are today distributed across the world.
