The Tecnatom Internal Personal Dosimetry Service (IPDS) has been awarded a contract for performance of the bioelimination dosimetry of external temporary personnel working at the Enusa nuclear fuel manufacturing facility at Juzbado (Salamanca). For this purpose radiochemical analyses will be carried out on biological samples and it will be necessary to have an IPDS authorised by the Nuclear Safety Council, such as the one provided by Tecnatom.
In addition, and as determined by the National Accreditation Body (ENAC), our IPDS is accredited in accordance with the UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 standard for testing and calibration laboratories and with the ISO internal dosimetry standards (20553, 208218 and 2704 8) for the activity “Direct methods for determination of the incorporation of radionuclides in the human organism by means of gamma spectrometry and the estimation of effective committed dose”.
These accreditations make the Tecnatom IPDS a reference in the sector, where we have been periodically performing this type of activities in the dismantling of José Cabrera nuclear power plant, at the El Cabril waste disposal centre and at the Spanish nuclear power plants.
