The ceremony marking the inauguration of FarField NDT, the new joint venture between Tecnatom and the US company Innerspec Technologies, took place in Forest, Virginia (United States) at the end of 2017.
The objective of FarField NDT is to develop advanced inspection solutions for the North American market by combining the experience and technology development capacity of the two companies.
FarField NDT uses EMAT (Electro Magnetic Acoustic Transducer) technology to provide advanced inspection services to the nuclear, rail transport, industrial and oil and gas markets. The applications of this type of technology vary considerably, ranging from the detection of corrosion in boilers, piping, tanks and supports and the inspection of welds to the measurement of stress and strain in bolts.
FarField NDT’s activities also include training and consulting, in all cases aimed at providing integral inspection services. The purpose of FarField NDT is to integrate the experience of Innerspec and Tecnatom in order to develop ad hoc solutions for complex projects for which conventional inspections are inadequate.
With the implementation of this new company, Tecnatom intensifies its activities on the North American market, which is of great strategic importance for the Group’s operations.
