Tecnatom has been awarded with a R&D project called AAUT: “Automatic analysis of steam generator tubes from nuclear power plants, inspected by eddy currents”. The Project has been co-funded by the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI) and the Technology Fund (Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo Regional – FEDER).
The aim of the Project is to take advantage of new advances on fields involving signal processing, pattern recognition and machine learning, to develop a new automatic data analysis Software that allows improving performance of current automatic systems (increasing success rate, reducing false calls, etc.), simplifying processes such as personnel training, system configuration and maintenance and reducing analysis time per tube.
This type of inspection generates huge amounts of data and requires an important number of high-skilled eddy current experts during long periods of time. To minimize this problem and to reduce human errors, both sector regulation and competitors are focused on new automatic data analysis systems.
Tecnatom collaborates with renowned research organizations such as University of Cantabria, Polytechnic University of Valencia and University Carlos III of Madrid.
