Tecnatom has received the Spanish Supplier of the Year Award for 2017 in the category Prevention of Occupational Risk, Safety and Health, presented by the Chairman of Iberdrola España, Franciso Martínez Córcoles. Through these awards, Iberdrola provides incentive for and recognises Tecnatom’s business management. In the words of the Chairman of the electricity utility, “These awards aim to encourage companies to continue to strive for on-going improvement in the management of their activities, because you, our business partners, are a key part of our consolidation as the energy company of the future.”
The award ceremony took place at Torre Iberdrola in Bilbao, the headquarters of the utility, and was attended by more than 150 guests, among them members of the management of Iberdrola and representatives of suppliers from different parts of the country and various sectors.
It should be borne in mind that Iberdrola’s direct fiscal contribution amounts to 3,400 million Euros and that the company currently has some 5,000 collaborating firms, with contracting to the sum of 1,700 million. As the Group’s General Business Manager pointed out: “We help to develop the industrial fabric wherever we are involved, with a volume of purchasing that in 2016 amounted to 7,500 million Euros from 18,000 suppliers across the world.”
