Tecnatom has delivered transfer panels to Krško nuclear power plant in Slovenia, as part of a key project for continued operation of the plant. These are the first panels supplied to the plant, and the arrival of the new control room and simulator is foreseen in the coming months. Two more panels corresponding to a new section of the main control room will subsequently be delivered, along with an additional specific transfer panel for Post-Fukushima systems.
The transfer panels will be installed during the next plant refuelling outage. Tecnatom undertook the electrical and mechanical design, participating in integration, as well as the supply of the instrumentation and components. Human factors engineering (HFE) was applied in design, thereby optimising the reduction of the risk of human error, with application of NUREG guideline recommendations and consideration given to the preferences of the operator.
The project is still under way with the manufacturing of the emergency panel, which will be made up of three sections. This is currently in the final phase of design following a stage of detailed HFE analysis.
