Tecnatom took advantage of the opportunity provided by the annual meeting to announce that it has become a member of the Cotec Foundation for innovation. The meeting was held at the Royal Palace at El Pardo and was presided over by H.M. the King. The programme was organised for the first time in a hybrid format (in person + virtual) and His Majesty was joined by the Lady Chairman of Cotec, Cristina Garmendia, and the two vice-presidents of the foundation, the Chairman of Telefónica, José María Álvarez-Pallete, and the Chairman of Caixabank, Jordi Gual, as well as by outstanding personalities from the world of Spanish politics and business.
During his intervention, H.M. the King described Cotec as an example of cooperation between companies and institutions committed to innovation and encouraged the Foundation to share its experience: “We can get over this crisis if we cooperate and work together and achieving this necessarily means innovating”. The King also stressed that “If we take the right decisions then, after this storm, we might find ourselves even closer to achieving the target that Cotec mapped out 30 years ago: the promotion of a Spain clearly supporting innovation as a driver of economic growth and social development”.
In his address our General Manager, Javier Guerra, pointed out that our joining COTEC was quite natural since we are a company with innovation in its DNA that is anxious to share knowledge and experience and to gain insights from others and learn continuously.
In his intervention he underlined knowledge management as a special area of innovation providing a competitive edge and added value that, building on data science and artificial intelligence, promotes the talent and efficiency of people in the same way as – in its day – the steam engine pushed the limits of what was possible.
At Tecnatom, we are proud and excited to join the key players in the field of innovation in Spain in building a promising future of opportunities helping to address the enormous challenges that we face as a society.
