Tecnatom will build the Angra 3 NPP replica simulator, the models developed in this project will also serve to replace the old Angra 2 models (developed by competitors). In this way, Tecnatom consolidates its position as the main vendor of nuclear simulators in Brazil, as it has already supplied in past contracts the Angra 1 NPP replica simulator and replaced the I/O interface of the Angra 2 NPP simulator. We are very pleased and proud to be able to work once again for Eletronuclear, confident that we will meet the expectations of such a challenging project as this one.
Angra 3 is the third of the Brazilian nuclear power plants that make up the Almirante Álvaro Alberto Nuclear Complex, located on the Itaorna beach and currently under construction. Angra 3 will have a pressurized water reactor (PWR), a power of 1,405 MW, the actual project is being executed by Areva.
Tecnatom is a Spanish company that has been supporting nuclear power plants around the world for more than 60 years, offering services and technology for reactors in operation, under construction and those that opt for long-term operation. In this way, Tecnatom offers solutions to nuclear power plants throughout their life cycle, from the design phase to start-up, operation or decommissioning. Among its services is the development and maintenance of simulators for training and engineering support.
The kick-off meeting for the 40-month project will take place this week.
