The 2nd edition of the Industriales Research Meeting (IRM) took place in April at the University College of Industrial Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (ETSII). This event is held with a view to highlighting the different lines of research pursued at the ETSII, both internally for the students, post-graduate doctorate candidates and administration personnel and for external companies and organisations.
Tecnatom, which maintains a close relationship with the ETSII, participated with a stand, on which the company highlighted its latest developments in component inspection, with regard to both the rendering of services during maintenance activities and the manufacturing of systems and equipment for quality control in manufacturing. Other companies that collaborate with the ETSII, also in the aerospace sector, participated in the Industriales Research Meeting, for example Airbus Defence and Space and Altran, with which Tecnatom also collaborates regularly.
The event was held on April 4th and 5th, the first day being set aside for presentation of the research and technology transfer work carried out by the College’s post-graduates and teaching and research staff. The programme for the second day, which was dedicated to providing an insight into the lines of research of the ETSII groups, institutes and research centres, included a keynote speech by Avelino Corma, winner of the Prince of Asturias Prize for Scientific and Technical Research in 2014 .
