The Chinese company Dongbei Special Steel Group has awarded Tecnatom the supply of an ultrasonic system with phased-array technology, called BUT CP4, which will be used for bar inspection.
This new system is characterised by high productivity and the elimination of mechanical rotation elements. This is possible thanks to the use of circular phased-array probes that generate a complete sweep of the element to be inspected and an optimum coupling thanks to the use of immersion, resulting in better detectability and repeatability in measurement. These features give the system great versatility to inspect a wide range of bar diameters without making changes in mechanics or calibration.
The awarding of this new inspection system consolidates our activities in industrial sectors, where synergies with our conventional activities allow us to provide integral solutions based on non-destructive testing techniques that improve the efficiency of our customers’ plants.
